Founding Council

Munir Hasan

Munir Hasan is one of Bangladesh’s most influential champions of STEM education, digital innovation, and youth entrepreneurship. For over two decades, he has played a defining role in shaping how young Bangladeshis learn to think critically, solve problems, and engage with science and technology. As the President of the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), President of the Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB), and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee (BdMOC), he has been at the center of landmark national initiatives—including the Mathematical Olympiad, Junior Science Olympiad, AI Olympiad, multiple Robotics Olympiads, and the National High School Programming Contest. His influence is embedded in the education system itself: the Bangladesh government’s adoption of the “Math Olympiad Technique” in primary schools reflects his lasting impact on mathematics pedagogy nationwide.

Munir’s work spans government, development organizations, and digital transformation efforts, from ICT policy formulation and the National Broadband Policy to mission-critical national systems such as the Hajj Management Information System, automation of primary scholarship and teacher recruitment, and digitization of public examinations. A BUET-trained engineer, he is also a driving force behind youth entrepreneurship through “Chakri Khujbo Na, Chakri Debo,” and is recognized globally as an Ashoka Fellow and a member of the Malala Fund’s Education Champions Network. As a member of the MillionX Founding Council, Munir brings his lifelong commitment to empowering young Bangladeshis and his deep experience in national talent development. He sees MillionX as a natural extension of his mission—to give the next generation the skills, mindset, and opportunities needed to become a million 10x minds shaping Bangladesh’s future.
