Dr. Md. Tamzeed Islam

Dr. Md. Tamzeed Islam is an applied scientist specializing in large-language models, reinforcement learning, and safe AI alignment. At Amazon AGI, he works on advancing the next generation of intelligent systems—developing models that learn from human feedback, reason across complex tasks, and support creativity at scale. Previously, at Amazon Lab126, he built multimodal machine-learning models that now power widely used consumer devices, translating research into products used by millions. His career blends scientific depth with a strong sense of purpose, driven by the belief that innovation emerges where curiosity, courage, and real-world impact meet.

Born and raised in Bangladesh, Dr. Islam earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET before completing his PhD in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a sophomore at BUET, he and his team became National Champions of the Microsoft Imagine Cup, representing Bangladesh at the World Finals and demonstrating the global potential of young Bangladeshi innovators. He is also the author of the widely read article “Racing ahead: Bangladesh’s place in the AI revolution” in The Business Standard, where he outlines a bold vision for the country’s AI future. As a member of the MillionX Founding Council, Dr. Islam hopes to help young Bangladeshis see themselves as creators and leaders of tomorrow’s technologies—and to contribute to a movement that nurtures a million 10x minds across the nation.
